Onosereba Ehinomen Adewale is the CEO of Nosymat Enterprise, a fashion brand that specializes in the sales of pleated fabrics, branded T-shirts, fashion accessories, and also offers personal shopping and styling services. I hold a B.Sc. in Accounting and a National Diploma in Business Administration, which have helped me build strong business, financial, and customer-service skills. Beyond my professional life, I’m a wife and a mother of three, and I’ve learned to balance entrepreneurship with family responsibilities while remaining focused and results-driven.
What does purpose mean to you, and are you fulfilling it?
To me, purpose means using what I am genuinely passionate about to add value to others in a meaningful way. Yes, I am confident that I am fulfilling my purpose. I have always been passionate about fashion and styling from childhood, particularly helping Christians dress in a way that reflects both their values and good taste. Over time, I realized that what comes naturally to me, understanding fit, balance, and presentation is something many people struggle with. Through my work and my social platforms, I educate and guide people on how to dress decently, confidently, and stylishly without compromising their standards. The feedback and results I receive from people who have improved their dressing and confidence because of my guidance confirm that I am walking in my purpose.
What motivates me to do all I do?
What motivates me most is the opportunity to do work I genuinely love. When I’m engaged in something I’m passionate about, I experience a deep sense of satisfaction, especially when I get it right. It also challenges me and pushes me beyond my comfort zone, helping me grow in ways I might not have otherwise. Another strong motivation is the feedback I receive from people. When someone tells me that something I shared helped them, educated them, or changed their perspective, it reassures me that my work has an impact. Those moments encourage me to continue improving and to strive for more. I am also motivated by the respect and credibility my work brings. Through consistency and presentation, I’ve been able to earn the respect of people across different levels. This has opened opportunities for me to be invited to speak or contribute as an authority in my field, which further motivates me to uphold high standards. Ultimately, I’m motivated by the financial value the work generates. While it’s not the primary drive, earning from what I do reinforces its value and sustains my commitment to excellence.
In my journey to becoming, what challenges did I face and how did I overcome them?
Like most purpose-driven journeys, mine came with several challenges, but two stood out. The first challenge came from my church environment. Coming from a conservative background, where outward appearance was not strongly emphasized, my interest in dressing decently and classily was sometimes misunderstood. Some people felt that focusing on appearance meant I wasn’t prioritizing spiritual matters enough, while others questioned the value of my social media presence because it wasn’t centered on preaching in the conventional sense. I overcame this by staying clear about my purpose and maintaining focus. I believe that presenting oneself decently and excellently can also be a form of influence. People are often drawn by what they see before they listen to what they hear. Over time, through consistency and character, perceptions changed and acceptance followed. The second challenge was the assumption that one needs many fashion items to look good. I was often told that I repeated shoes and bags or didn’t have enough variety. I addressed this by embracing intentional styling, choosing quality over quantity and working within my financial capacity. I learned to maximize what I had, create balance in my outfits, and still present myself confidently. These challenges taught me resilience, self-awareness, and the importance of staying grounded in purpose regardless of external opinions.
How can one move from the shadow to the spotlight?
Firstly, know God, not just by name, but deeply and personally. When you seek God for yourself, direction becomes clearer. Matthew 6:33 captures it perfectly: when you seek God first, every other good thing aligns. The spotlight is not chased, it follows purpose. Secondly, discover your purpose. This requires prayer, self-reflection, and sometimes counseling. Read books, ask questions, and pay attention to what stirs genuine passion within you. Purpose doesn’t have to be grand or popular. It doesn’t have to look like anyone else’s. Even something small, when done uniquely and authentically, has the power to set you apart and draw attention. Next, stay focused and consistent. Purpose only produces results when it is nurtured daily. Consistency builds mastery, and mastery attracts recognition. Over time, people begin to notice, and before you know it, your work speaks for you in rooms you never announced yourself in. Lastly, be diligent. Scripture (Proverbs 22:29) reminds us that diligence positions a person before kings and not mere men. Hard work, integrity, discipline, and excellence are timeless keys that elevate anyone from obscurity to influence.
What skill will I recommend young people learn?
When asked what skills young people should learn, I usually don’t give a direct list. Instead, I encourage them to pray and ask God to guide them on what to pursue. But, a word of caution, don’t spend forever just praying while being lazy, then complain God hasn’t shown you the way, especially while asking for urgent 2k online. We live in a tech-driven world, so one practical approach is to pick a tech skill, master it completely, and position yourself well both online and offline. God will bless the work of your hands when you put in the effort. If tech feels overwhelming, focus on hard skills—fashion designing, welding, tiling, carpentry, or any craft you feel passionate about. Learn it thoroughly. Once you become excellent at something, it will pay off. The key is to find your target audience and capture their attention. No skill is useless when you’re a true professional at it.
