Briefly tell us about you.
I am OnyinyeAmara Light Martins, a virtual assistant, porn accountability, recovery and support strategist. I love to refer myself as a voice that has come to stay and must be heard because according to Esther 4:14 which happens to be my favourite Bible passage, I believe I was practically born for a time like this. I love to inspire change in the life of people and over the years, I have utilised both my knowledge, experiences and skills in creating awareness on the impact of porn addiction while also helping fellow young minds break free from its claws.
What can you say, purpose is. And from your purpose, can you say, you’re fulfilling purpose?
First and foremost, purpose is your sole existence… The very reason a person is born. It is the sole essence of life.
What’s the motivation behind all that you do?
In a world where certain things have been accepted as the new normal, I’d say my motivation has been the great need to effect change in the society. Time is running out and we all will not live forever but the works which we have implemented will go on to live without us.
How do you handle life’s challenges thrown at you?
I have not always been one who runs away from her challenges. I break down, I scream, I shut myself out of the world but one thing I never do is run. Challenges are inevitable and the way we handle it matrers a lot.
How can one move from shadow to spotlight?
You want to move from the shadows to the spotlight? Live as though you’re already in the spotlight… Watch other people who have previously walked the path before you. Live an authentic life.
What skills would you advice young people to learn?
I do not really love to influence certain areas in a person’s life but I’d generally say; while you learn skills that aligns with your purpose, do well to also learn high income skills because your purpose might not foot your finance immediately.
